Increase Your CIBIL Score in 2026

How will you increase your CIBIL score in 2026? For those whose CIBIL score is already good, increasing the CIBIL score is not that important. But for those whose CIBIL score has already become bad, increasing the CIBIL score is necessary. Otherwise, they will not get a loan in the future.

In most cases, the CIBIL score becomes bad because there is some error or problem in the CIBIL report. Now, you can increase the score by doing rectification there. That is why you have to make a complaint in CIBIL. How you will make a complaint in CIBIL, I will explain the detailed process here.

What Is a Good CIBIL Score?

The range of the CIBIL score is between 300 and 900. If someone has a 750 CIBIL score, then they get any type of loan from any good bank.

But this does not mean that someone does not get a loan with a lower score. They do get it. Even if the score is 700 plus, the customer can get a loan from a good bank, especially loans like home loan and mortgage loan.

However, unsecured loans like personal loan and business loan become difficult to get. Even then, you can get a loan from a non-banking finance company. But if the score is low, getting a loan becomes difficult. And if a loan is available, then the rate of interest is very high. The terms and conditions are also not good.

Why Do You Need to Have a Good CIBIL Score?

If your score is good, then you get a loan easily. The rate of interest is low, and the loan amount is also higher.

Now, why is the loan amount higher? Because those whose CIBIL score is good are provided a longer tenure and a lower interest rate by the bank. Due to this, their loan amount also increases.

Sometimes it happens that you are buying a house and you need a higher loan amount. But if the CIBIL score is not good, then you will get a lower loan amount, and buying the house can become difficult.

What Factors Impact the CIBIL Score?

CIBIL does not share its algorithm. The CIBIL score is generated on the basis of an automated algorithm. There is no manual calculation.

However, there are some basic parameters such as payment history, credit utilization, length of credit history, credit mix, and new credit inquiry.

Loan repayment history has a 35% weightage. This means whether your EMI is going on time every month or not has a very big impact on the CIBIL score.

After this comes credit utilization, which has a 30% weightage. This means how much of the credit limit given to you are you using.

After this come credit length, credit mix, and recent inquiry. If there are too many inquiries in a short period of time, then the CIBIL score can also go down.

How to Identify the Reason for a Low CIBIL Score

I am explaining in so much detail so that you can understand why your CIBIL score has gone bad. If the score has already gone bad, the first thing to do is to read your CIBIL report properly.

When you read the report carefully, you will understand where the error is, where the problem is, and for what reason the score has gone bad.

Sometimes wrong personal information gets added to the CIBIL report. Sometimes a loan or credit card account appears in the report that does not belong to you at all. Or you may have made the full payment, but the bank has not updated it properly. Because of all these reasons, the CIBIL score can become bad.

How to Raise a Complaint in CIBIL

If there is any such problem, you can log in to the CIBIL portal and raise an online dispute. By submitting a complaint there, the problem gets resolved.

Apart from this, there is another method where you can fill an online form and attach documents such as a no dues certificate, payment receipt, etc.

Being a CIBIL rectification agency, we also follow this same method. This is a very powerful method because here you can explain the problem in detail and also attach supporting documents.

RBI Guideline on CIBIL Complaints

The new RBI guideline has been implemented from April 26, 2024. According to this guideline, your complaint should be resolved within 30 days.

If the complaint is not resolved within 30 days, then a penalty is imposed on both CIBIL and the bank.

If your problem is not solved even after making a complaint to CIBIL, then you can complain to the nodal officer. It is still not solved, you can complain to the principal nodal officer. After that, you can complain to the RBI Ombudsman.

What to Do After CIBIL Report Rectification

Suppose your CIBIL report has been rectified and the negative status has been removed, but the score is still not increasing as much as it should. In such cases, some tips should be followed.

First of all, if there is any pending due, clear it completely. Always pay EMI and credit card bills on time. Do not use more than 30% of your credit card limit. Do not make too many credit inquiries.

Increase Your CIBIL Score in 2026 Further

If your score is already good and you want to increase it further, you can take secured loans such as a home loan, mortgage loan, or gold loan. Do not close old good accounts because doing so can suddenly reduce your score.

For those whose score has become very bad, a credit builder loan is also a good option. With timely repayment, the score increases gradually. There is no fixed time for the score to increase. For some people, it may take 3 months, for some 6 months, and for some even 1 year.
